TOMAHAWK – After recently holding a friendly plant vs. plant competition, Harley-Davidson Tomahawk Operations made a substantial donation to the Tomahawk Emergency Food Pantry.
Roxanne Consolver of Tomahawk Operations explained that after hearing that the pantry could use some help, Tomahawk’s two Harley-Davidson plants, Somo and Kaphaem, decided to hold a “food fight” to see which plant could collect more items.
The stakes of the competition were high: the Area Manager of the plant finished in second place would have to take a pie to the face. However, if Somo and Kaphaem collected a combined 1,000 items, then Tomahawk Operations’ General Manager John Davis would be subject to said pie.
The plants made it over the 1,000-item hump, and on Monday, Nov. 25, a donation of 1,002 items was delivered to the pantry.
Consolver said that with Davis now officially being “the guy getting the pie,” he will accept his punishment on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
“It was all done in great fun for a great cause,” Consolver stated.
