Floyd’s Timber Tavern’s ‘Toys for Tots’ challenge benefits local kids

Posted

TOMAHAWK – Floyd’s Timber Tavern, 433 S. Tomahawk Ave., Tomahawk, recently hosted a friendly competition to benefit Toys for Tots, a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve that distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.

Over the course of several weeks, six teams collected toys for local kids.

The Jingle Belles, with team captain Tammy Copiskey, won this year’s competition, taking down last year’s winners, The Daves, led by team captain Dave Feest.

“All of the wonderful toys will make such a difference in so many kids’ and families’ lives,” said Valorie Manninen-Nelson of Floyd’s. “We know the kids are the real winners, and this makes our hearts so full, to be able to do something like this for our community.”
