Carol C. Winterfeldt

Carol C. Winterfeldt, age 91, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024. Carol was born on Feb. 24, 1933, in Appleton, Wis., to the late Charles and Anna (Kugler) Fuerst. She met her high school sweetheart, Bob Winterfeldt, at Appleton High School in 1949 and married him on Valentine’s Day in 1953 at St. Matthew’s Church in Appleton.

Carol was a stay-at-home mom and later worked in Appleton as a teacher’s aide, waitress, and at a candy store. Carol and Bob built their retirement dream home on Lake Nokomis where they enjoyed many wonderful years. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing cards and games with her family. She also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels and participating in many WJJQ contests. Carol will be deeply missed by her loving family.

Survivors include her son, Jeff (Kim) Winterfeldt, of Appleton, Wis.; her daughter, Pam (Chris) Reitzner, of Appleton, Wis., and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim (Marg) Winterfeldt, of Bloomington, Ind. She is further survived by her four grandchildren, Ryan Reitzner, Chelsea (Bill) Majinski, Emily (Kevin) Lubinski, and Sam Winterfeldt; and her four great-grandchildren, Chase and Teagan Majinski and Lyle and Leo Lubinski.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna; her husband, Bob; her son, Robin Winterfeldt; her sister-in-law, Betty Waskow; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Irving and LaVern Winterfeldt; and her great-granddaughter, McKenna Majinski.

A private celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
